About

Our purpose is to ensure that science has a home in every political party, at every level of government, from coast to coast to coast by engaging more scientists and engineers in politics.

Scientific decision making is critically important at all levels of government. Having more STEM experts (science, technology, engineering, mathematics/medicine) at the decision-making table helps ensure that decisions are made based on the best available evidence. Politicians often rely on their peers to understand issues — having more STEM elected officials across parties and levels of government means more expertise to rely on.

What We Do

We amplify STEM voices in politics. Breaking into politics is difficult, and it is even more challenging for those with a STEM background. We provide information and support for Canadians who want to engage in politics across all parties and levels of government.

Cross-partisan. We believe that it’s critical that science be cross-partisan, and that scientific involvement across the political spectrum is crucial to that goal.

Story-tellers. We demystify the path to politics for anyone from a STEM background who is interested in learning more. Sharing stories, workshops, and articles from diverse individuals who have made the leap
